I Promise....
When God placed the concept of "Deborah's Freedom" on my heart my focus was solely on the issue of domestic abuse because that is the worst pain I could relate to. While this is still my benchmark for dialogue, I have learned so much more .... from all of you.
Pain has an evil thread. It will disable you. It will make you lose your focus. Some stop eating - or they over-eat. Some die - or some choose to die. The pain DOES NOT last forever - even though it may feel like it. Men process pain differently than women - and it has been sobering the men who have contacted me - not always as a victim or a survivor of domestic violence but pain will change you - whether you are a man or woman.
I am not a psychologist, a psycho-therapist, a licensed counselor but I KNOW I can identify with you. I'd like to think that "Deborah's Freedom" is a catalyst of healing the broken hearts. Whatever is hurting your heart - first thing first - whether you are a bible believer (...I am).... or if you are not - please KNOW that you are not alone on your journey. The caterpillar enters a cocoon - I'd imagine that cocoon is dark - no light, perhaps - but after the invisible work has been done by the Master of the Universe, out comes a beautiful butterfly. YOU are a butterfly in progress. The invisible pain that no one can see and you have chosen not to discuss anymore is making you into someone beautiful. Someone - somewhere is paying for someone exactly like you - flaws and all. It is the flaws that make you perfect. You can put paint on an old barn make it look new but the barn is authentically what it is - a barn. You are a person of great wealth. Wealth does not always mean monetary (although everyone wants a bit me - including me).... Your intellect, your character, your ability to weather your storms make you priceless.
Your past was just a lesson. Don't live there.
