AIM 2 WIN!!
So, how are those New Year resolutions going so far? Are you actually using the gym membership? Are you eating a lot of kale and grilled chicken? Did you stop smoking? Did you drop that "zero" and find you a "hero"? Whatever resolution you made, it is never too late to return to a regime if you "fell off" for a minute. Life changes take time. I was told it takes 21 days to create a habit - so let's call January the "free trial month" and you can start over now that it is February. Great thing about life - you can "start all over again" ANYTIME. Keep your goals in mind - perhaps place photos of where you want to be, where you want to go, what you are working to attain on your "dream board" or in a journal. As NIKE says.... "Just do it"!!
The horrible thing about making resolutions is feeling frustrated when you feel you are a failure at attaining them. Thing is - make small celebrations as you pursue your goal. If you wanna lose 100 pounds - celebrate (with a salad :-)) when you lose 10! If you wanna write a book, celebrate when you finish the first chapter! If you are making dietary changes, make eat sensibly (let's say) FIVE days a week, then "cheat: two days. Over time, your body will get used to the smaller intake of macaroni and cheese and "cheat" days will be limited to only a cookie here and there. It was like a "light bulb" went off inside of me when I realized I could satisfy my "sweet tooth" with fruits. (Believe me, I "KNOW" the struggle with FOOD!!) My unhealthy addiction and I "broke up" some time ago - but we are still friends. :-)
Maybe you have unspoken goals. The kind you choose not to share with anyone. That's cool! Just keep reaching for the sky - there are no limits. I am a huge advocate for keeping my "dreams" to myself - sometimes people can be cynical and not understand the depth of the things that I may hold dear to my heart. Results speak for themselves.
This year, instead of opting for a formal "resolution" I am choosing to dig deeper. There are prayers that I have placed in the Throne Room of God that I am seeking answers to. These prayers are unfulfilled dreams that I refuse to give up on. I am going after these cries of my heart. Certainly God has not forgotten about them - I just got so "busy" with life and took these petitions for granted, I guess. Just as long as I had a roof over my head, food to eat and basics of life - I got content. Oh, but there is so much more.
When I think of the opulence of Heaven, how much more does Our Father desire for us? I cannot tell you how many times I look at the people who choose not to serve God and wonder why they are seemingly prospering and I am "fighting" for everything I have. First reality check is that the enemy makes the road to hell beautiful (sin DOES have pleasure for a season). Why would the enemy argue with a soul destined for hell? Why would the enemy NOT give those who serve him "stuff"? Secondly, I just believe we as believers dream TOO SMALL. I am personally going after the greater things God has for me. Someone once told me an adage that comes to mind..... Imagine going to Heaven to get the reward of Eternal Life and The Creator takes you to a room FULL of wrapped gifts. You scroll past the names and find YOURS. There before you are boxes of "gifts" God was willing to give you - but you never asked for them. All wrapped up and ready to be dispatched and all we had to do is "ask". So I am asking! The enemy does not want us to receive what God has for us - so I end each prayer with "God give my angels whatever authority they need to get my blessings to me" ... just in case the enemy seeks to intercept them. There is a heavenly realm - but the enemy is the prince and power of the earth. God said that when we call upon him - he would answer. Could the delay be the angels having to push past the darkness to deliver what God has for us?
Therefore: I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling
of God in Christ Jesus. (Phillipians 3:14 KJV)
PLEASE AIM TO WIN. Will YOU AIM TOO, PLEASE?
Nothing is ever OVER - until you WIN!
PERIOD.
